Hi there! My name is Cindy and this is my blog documenting my language learning journey.
I started learning Spanish in December 2024, and it’s really become a big hobby/passion of mine. They say that it’s hard for people to “keep up” with a language and stay consistent/dedicated without some big reason like love or job or a big international move–which is why I’ve waited to start this blog, but language learning has more or less become a hobby and even if one day I become fluent in Spanish, I plan on learning something new!
My experiences learning Spanish has also motivated me to improve my Mandarin. As I was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States at a young age, I consider myself a heritage speaker. While I feel comfortable speaking about day-to-day things, my usage of the language is largely confined within the home, speaking to only family. Because of my efforts in learning Spanish, in recent years I have also been trying to improve my speaking (to cover more complex topics!), and recover my reading and writing abilities.
For now: this blog will remain semi-anonymous… but this is actually far from my first rodeo on the internet and I have another fairly well read blog 😉
